-
Environment: An ideal environment for application is between 68ºF – 75ºF.
-
Preparation: The surface being painted must be free from oil, water, and polish. Ensure the surface is clean from dirt and debris. You can use CrystaLac Surface Conditioner to prepare the surface for application.
-
Application: Crab Coat can be sprayed or brushed on. We recommend a minimum of 4-6 coats for best UV protection. Since UV rays break down each layer from the top down, the more coats you use, the longer it will last.
-
Recoat Time: Allow 2-4 hours between coats, and allow at least 2 weeks of dry time before exposing to the elements.
-
Cure Time: Crab Coat can take up to 30 days to fully cure, depending on the number of coats.
-
Maintenance: We recommend you refresh your project with 1 or 2 new coats of Crab Coat every 1-2 years.
